We recently received these pictures from Angela, an Owatrol customer delighted with the results she achieved in tackling a persistent damp problem in the porches of her Victorian holiday let properties. The damp was causing the paint in the porches to peel drastically and it looked very unsightly.
She was recommended to mix some Owatrol Emulsa Bond into her exterior masonry paint in order to help with adhesion and she was delighted with the results. She sent us this picture and said:
12 months later there is only a  very small recurrence  so we are now preparing for a top-up treatment having brought the problem largely under control- thanks to Owatrol!
Emulsa Bond is a paint additive for water-based paints which provides a bonding primer as well as first coat all in one. It stabilises the surface being painted and helps to alleviate peeling and flaking problems which can be caused by many things. Emulsa Bond is easy to use, simply mix it into your paint (in this case exterior masonry paint) Â in the suitable proportions and use in the first coat only (no need for priming first as the Emulsa Bond acts as a primer as well and bonds the first coat well to the surface). Then apply your second coat of paint with no E-B.
