This iroko deck transformation after 12 years of neglect is possibly the most impressive makeover we have ever seen. This is another project completed by none other than Roger of R&A Pressure Washing Services.
After learning how long the wood had been left unmaintained, combined with the job being 3 floors up and water access at ground level, Roger knew he had his work cut out for him with this one!
So, just how did Roger achieve the end result?
The prep work
As you can see, the deck was almost solid black with a over a decade worth of dirt built up on it. As it was in such a bad state, Roger had to use Prepdeck, Net-Trol and sand, to be able to get the surface ready for a finish.
Prepdeck

To assist in the removal of Prepdeck, we recommend using a power washer at 500-1000 psi (35-70 bars). Alternatively, use the highest pressure from the water source that is available.
Net-Trol

Once everything had dried, Roger sanded the deck. This isn’t usually a necessary step, however, Roger wanted to ensure the deck would fully saturate with a finish.
The finish

Remember, Aquadecks is a saturating product and as such, its place is inside the wood and not on the surface. Do not allow it to become touch dry/dry between coats and do not let a film form on the surface.
